Death Grip Syndrome – Can Too Much Masturbation Injure Your Penis

Masturbation and sex. Both feel wonderful and you've been doing it as often as you can since you discovered it. When it comes to masturbating, it is easy to get into a routine. From the first days of discovery and experimentation, it becomes clear that certain hand motions, degrees of pressure and other subtleties get more of a response than others. A new idea that has been surfacing throughout the web is if you are having a hard time ejaculating while masturbating, you might have acquired a condition known as "Death Grip Syndrome" (DGS). Recently it is seen that more masturbation and applying more force while masturbating than that is generally applied on your penis during vaginal sex with your partner causes this condition which is mostly the desensitization of the nerve endings in your penis.

What is Death Grip Syndrome?
It is a condition in which too much pressure exerted by your hand desensitizes the nerves in your penis. The American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV-TR) defines RE as "the persistent or recurrent delay in, or absence of orgasm after a normal sexual excitement phase during sexual activity that the clinician, taking into account the person’s age, judges to be adequate in focus, intensity, and duration.”  While Death Grip Syndrome (DGS) may not be termed as a medical condition but it is surely a part of ‘retarded ejaculation’, characterized by the desensitization of the nerves in your manhood that inhibits orgasm due to getting adapted to more aggressive masturbation techniques such as too tight of a grip.
In this problem men have a problem is orgasming unless the same intensity and force are created. This may create a problem among men to achieve the same level of stimulation that he is normally used to through vaginal sex.

Symptoms of Death Grip Syndrome

Sex is not as much fun as it used to be - this is the earliest sign that you may be having such kinds of symptoms and more often than naught is because of making your penis used to more vigorous masturbation and excitement than what you can get from your partner in real.

Difficulty in having an erection - another dangerous symptom of having difficulty, is maintaining an erection throughout the process of sex. This means that the nerves in your penis have become acclimatized to much more pressure which only a hand can provide only and not a vagina.

Inability to get an orgasm - the final symptom is the inability to get an orgasm because the threshold for the nerves to get sensitized increases by masturbation and gripping the penis too hard or doing to fast. So you have a problem in getting turned on that much of desensitization of the nerves of your penis.

How is Death Grip Syndrome Caused
There's a reason why we all call masturbation "jerking off". The term pretty much describes the guys masturbate most of the time throughout their life with a tight grip around the penis, which moves the sensitive tissues of the penis back and forth in a fast rhythm combined with a vigorous up and down motion. This is a rigorous tissue massage which is used to bring about climax and orgasm. Over time, as a guy develops more of a tolerance to this type of stimulation, he may begin to apply even more pressure and more vigorous motion in order to achieve the same sensations that he enjoyed through a lighter touch previously(Which is why we naturally gravitate towards the method when we are young—we want to hit the orgasm quick so that we don't get caught.).This phenomenon is not very different from guys who need more and more alcohol or drug with time as they keep consuming them till the toxic levels of alcohol or drugs are reached. ( Not that a type of self-massage to gain a bit of pleasure is as serious as alcohol or drug abuse—just illustrating a concept.)
The main trouble is that this type of manual massage is in no way similar to vaginal sex.Vaginas do not "jerk off" a penis. The stimulation felt during intercourse is friction-based and is much more subtle, gentle, and soft than what is felt when "jerking off". One becomes dependent on increasing amount of pressure and jerks and that can make it difficult to be sexually responsive to the stimulation felt inside a vagina.
Death grip is also about being reliant on a single method of masturbating to a climax and requiring more and more pressure to feel the same sensations. It gradually takes away your ability to sense and have pleasure from subtle pleasurable sensations from an actual intercourse. Whichever method you may use, even if it not as same as that mentioned above, if you are reliant on your single intensely done method, and you can no longer be very happy about your sexual responsiveness, you've arrived at this critical point.

Can the Effects be Reversed?
More than one complex factors guide the sensation of your penis and its reaction to them, so there may not be a prescribed formula that will help every man to recover his original level of sensation. However, these following methods can be tried out …
- Stopping masturbation altogether for a week or two.
- "Retraining" the nerve pathways between the penis and brain through visualization, experimentation with visual imagery and use of new techniques.
-       Use of a good quality moisturizer or cream to make your skin softer and increase your sensitivity.

Going forward...
Men who have suffered from this problem and have successfully recovered from this crisis; and men who have normal sensitivity, preventing sensation loss is of paramount importance. In order to protect the penis and the nerves in it against mechanical damage or abrasion to the or skin or connective tissue, men should do the following:
- Use a personal lubricant that is made for the purpose. A water-based lube functions by staying on the surface of the skin, creating a slippery barrier between your penis and your palm that can lessen the level of friction-related damage to the skin.
- Use soft touch. Yanking away at the manhood or going fast and furious will again get you into trouble and so try to adapt to a more gentle and mild practice. If you are not stimulated enough by a soft grip, try seeing some instigating things or think of some stimulating thoughts and imaginations. A masturbation sleeve can also be a good alternative.
- Use a penis health cream or supplement like Invigo every day to protect and nourish the skin. A targeted formula containing vitamins, amino acids and antioxidants can help strengthen the skin on a cellular level, as well as providing vital moisture that may boost the skin’s natural lubricant qualities.
